SMS Consent & Opt-In Process

Purpose of this page: Public evidence of Waypoint’s website SMS opt-in process for Twilio A2P / 10DLC review. This page does not itself enroll a phone number.
1. Where users opt in
Users opt in on the Waypoint website signup page:
https://waypointtradingco.org/signup
SMS consent may also later be managed in signed-in account settings. Waypoint does not automatically opt existing members into SMS.
2. SMS consent is optional
SMS consent is optional. A user may create and maintain a Waypoint account without selecting SMS consent.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase and is not required to create a Waypoint account.
3. Separate from Terms / Privacy acceptance
SMS consent is collected through a separate checkbox that is independent from the required Terms of Service / Privacy Policy / Risk Disclosure acceptance checkbox.
The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default. Providing a phone number alone does not constitute SMS consent.
4. Exact disclosure displayed next to the SMS checkbox
The following text is displayed next to the SMS consent checkbox on signup:
I agree to receive SMS messages from Waypoint Trading Co., including Pete responses, account/service notifications, trading alerts I enable, and order/fill notifications where enabled. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing or creating a Waypoint account. 5. Message categories
If a user opts in, Waypoint / Pete Messaging may send SMS messages such as:
- Pete responses the member initiates or requests
- Account / service notifications
- Trading alerts the member enables
- Order / fill notifications where enabled
- Security / account notices related to Waypoint
Message frequency varies.
Message and data rates may apply.
6. STOP / HELP
Reply STOP to opt out.
Reply HELP for help.
Supported opt-out keywords include STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT.
7. Mobile information privacy
Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in/consent data are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
